Pampering Moms Not Babies

The long-awaited, infamous spa day has almost arrived! Tomorrow, we will gather in our normal meeting spot for the first meeting of 2019 for a lot of pampering.

Don’t want to put on makeup? No worries. Come without and leave pampered with a new look by MaryKay.

Need to stretch, relax and mediate on what’s to come in 2019? Wear your yoga gear and bring your yoga mat because Sea Glass Therapy is providing us with two 30-minute yoga sessions to choose from.

Other pampering stations will be offered by some of our own moms, and I’m sure you’ll leave with lots of goodies to be enjoyed at home. Oh! Be sure to take your punchcard to each station to earn your entry for the door prizes which will be given away at the end of our morning together.

Did I mention chair massages are available? Umm, you don’t want to miss this option because we have four great massage therapist scheduled to help pamper you tomorrow. This does require advance sign-up; so, if you haven’t snagged a time-slot, go the our Members Only Facebook Page to schedule yours now!

A list of vendors pampering you instead of your babies this week are:

All Kinds Of Friendships

blog_sisterhoodI’m an Instagram junkie and follow some amazing women who speak TRUTH into me everyday and don’t even know it. [I mean, they know they are speaking truth because they are #mombosses, but they don’t always know they are speaking to ME.] I was just reading this one oh-my-word-amazing post about speaking truth to yourself, and it got me to thinking about our theme for tomorrow. Sisterhood.

I’d venture to say, a lot of us are speaking truth to each other. For those of us who have found our tribe, we speak life into each other, and we encourage each on a regular basis. For those of us who are still seeking to connect with our true tribe, we might still be craving those friendships. [If you are in the latter category, don’t fret – it will come. Just keep showing up!] But my question for you tonight is this…

How do you speak to yourself? If others could hear how you speak to yourself, would you be proud? Can you agree that by treating ourselves with love and respect, we are more prepared to treat others with love and respect?

So, let’s do this. Wake up tomorrow and stand in front of the mirror, pick out the things that make you beautiful, strong, able and powerful – instead of your imperfections. By doing this, we’ll show up to MOPS ready to share our love with someone else. And tomorrow, we will learn more about all kinds of friendships.

Spirit Night at Newk’s Eatery

blog_newksspiritnight

Did you know MOPS of Newnan is a not-for-profit organization who cares for mamas throughout Newnan? Momming is as hard as it is rewarding; so here, we gather moms with children (age 0-kindergarten) to share in hardships and triumphs.

We are proud to bring family resources to our moms, as well as a few child-free hours each month at meetings where we serve coffee and breakfast. There are many ways to support MOPS of Newnan, including providing coffee or breakfast, running an ad here on our website or doing everyday activities like taking your family out for dinner to one of our spirit nights throughout the year!

Tonight from 5-8pm, you can feed your family and support our organization by meeting us at Newk’s Eatery for dinner. A portion of every purchase will come back to us, allowing us to reach one more mom who needs our support! Shout out you’re support by clicking our event or checking in to Newk’s Eatery tonight.

MOPS Fall Swap

MOPS of Newnan Fall Swap

First, Happy Halloween! If you’re downtown Newnan for the Munchkin Masquerade and see me working at the Library, please say hi!

But you’re probably reading to learn more about out next meeting, so let me get right to it… Clean out your closets and pack up the clothes that no longer fit the people in your house. Clean the playroom & kids’ rooms and bring the toys your kids no longer enjoy. Bring all your unwanted items to the MOPS Swap. Bring as many items as you’d like. Because you’ll have a chance to look through everything the other mothers bring and select items that will work for you and your family. Items your kids will enjoy! You might even find something worth saving to wrap for Christmas!

At the end of swap, unclaimed items will go to New Beginnings Thrift Store to support Women’s Shelters.

Check in is at 9:15, breakfast starts at 9:30 am, and we will have plenty of time to shop before settling in for a little gratitude challenge. Don’t you think it’s time?

It’s simple: If you worry, you give up being happy. This week, we’ll take the Three Good Things Gratitude Challenge and embrace the phrase, “Don’t worry. Be happy!”

And speaking of being happy… be happy with us! If you haven’t committed to us for this season, what are you waiting for? Haven’t you had a great time? We want you to be a part of MOPS of Newnan this year, so stop hesitating and *commit.

Parenting

blog_parenting

I am thrilled about what we have planned today. I mean, I think two meetings is plenty of time to get to know each other and it’s time to get deep. Are you in?

We have two guest speakers to talk to us about Parenting. Lauren Collins RN, BSN is from Moms On Call, and, mamas, when she told me what was on her heart, I got goose bumps. I cannot wait to hear what she has for us today. I’m pretty sure God was speaking to her and she was listening.

Next up is Susan Goodroe, M.Ed. with the Ferst Foundation, a childhood literacy program in Georgia, now known as Ferst Readers. And if you aren’t familiar with Ferst Readers, it’s a program that sends every child up to the age of 5 a free book each month. Wow! Where do I sign up? Well, Susan is going to tell us.

So, mamas, will I see you this morning? I sure hope you’ll be there with hearts open.
